Final Assignment

  In the beginning of this semester, my expectations on the 1301 class were that I was going to have to do lots of research through the internet and get familiarized with the different kinds of software. This course did meet my expectations. I learned how to use the different types of technological resources for college use. This course helped me understand better how to use all of the resources given to me. I cannot say that this course did not meet my expectations since it clearly did. Although the technical difficulties that we had this semester we still managed to pull through.
 
  For this course to be better, maybe the committee can provide better classrooms for the class. The computers were acting a little slow and sometimes we had problems with presentations on the screen. Either no sound or image was an issue. The positive side of this was that everyone was able to communicate with one another. Had lots of group projects and presentations that allowed us to familiarize with the resources and how to properly use them when dealing with other classes with their works, projects, and/or presentations. In overall, this course was my favorite since we were able to get a better hold on to the resources given to us by the university. As well, we were able to gain knowledge on the entire technological world that we live in and how it affects us on the daily bases both positive and negative. For me, this course is a great one, just need some fixes.

Introduction/Summary

The business of Chipotle is a restaurant chain that specifies in mexican grill food.  This chain of restaurant opened in 1993. They do not declare themselves as a fast food chain. They stick strictly to fresh, high quality ingredients. Chipotle is in the social media network where they are able to put out more of their high quality recipes. The social media that is widely used by chipotle is Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, and Instagram.

The way that Chipotle uses these form of media is by getting connected to their clients and see what kind of food do they like and see their reactions to them. The way that this business uses Youtube is great. Their proposition on Youtube is that they post high quality commercials about the awareness of packaged food that is filled with hormones and other artificial products that is only harming the society. Their commercials are based upon creating awareness of eating healthier food and to trust Chipotle since they are claiming in their advertisements that they use fresh ingredients.Not only is Chipotle gaining more fame for their advertisements, but they will progress into being able to communicate more with their clients through other social media in the future.

Raise Awareness
Chipotle advertise that they are all natural compared to all the other hormone using fast food restaurants. In their advertisement the text is that they are the healthier alternative than many other restaurants. They also explain in the first link of the Youtube commercial that Buck Marshall explains what they really do to the animals, claiming that this Chipotle commercial is a misconception. The subtext as well as the text makes it clear that this restaurant is the best and that the customers will be satisfied.

Influence desire
Based on Chipotle Mexican Grill's phenomenal growth rate, investors have to be wondering what they're putting in those burritos. The answer is a lot of fresh ingredients, which are mixed together right in front of patrons' eyes. Like Starbucks and Foods, chipotle is capitalizing on consumers' desire for higher-quality food and rightly understands that consumers are willing to pay more for healthier products. People are also advertising for Chipotle through Vines and making it desirable for  potential consumers

Social Media in the Workplace

So far in our topic on how Social Media is in the Workplace, I have found four sources from the UHD Library Databases. These sources that I found I will put in context ho Social Media such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other form of social media have influenced businesses. How they are able to communicate with their clients more easily now than in the past where social media did not exist at the time. My research will be vastly on how in the beginning there was not as much Social Media, but how time has passed and now we are seeing that there are more and more technology. So far the information from the sources that I have found I have set out the outline of how the application of modern technology has influenced all businesses in presenting their products. As well as the fundamental tips on how the social media helps businesses stay in contact with their clients. David searched up three sources that have to do with the pros and cons of social media in the workplace. Along with that, Luis has collected data from businesses such as fast food restaurants and how they use social media to promote their products that they sale. We will put all our research all our research and final information of Google Slide and each group member will present their slides and talk about their findings.

 This article talks about how now the more stuff we post online of our lives, the less privacy we have. We have to take more precautions since scammers are always on the look out to get our private information and do horrible stuff with them.  This is a great problem that I am seeing in first hand since my friend's Instagram account was hacked and his personal information was stolen. We need to create better passwords for all our accounts. Not only this, but change them every couple of months for precautions.

This does not mean that the personal information will be given, only the basics of all of us.

 The article talks about how once you put something online such as Facebook, it is no longer private. It is now public to the world. Some journalist took a picture that the CEO of Facebook took and post on Facebook and the journalists used it on their article. This is saying that the picture is not public and not private. As well there is a controversy between the difference of private and personal. Private is defined as confined to or intended for people that are to be seen by such as close quarters friends and family. While Personal is defined as relating to, directed to or intended for a particular person. So when you share a picture to social media you are allowing personal friends to see them.

Blog Assignment #6

 In my Google account, the settings are set to only the people that I have in my circles will be able to send me notifications along with comments on the posts that I have. Here you are able to manage your apps, photos and videos you share as well as sharing it with Youtube. I have a good feeling that my privacy is secured here because I do not have much to share on Google other than my work for my classes.

 The second online service that I have is my AT&T yahoo email. This account is very secured since I made sure that my settings are set to my level of privacy. On settings you are able to change the way you view your emails. As well it has the feature security under settings which allows spam email to be removed within a certain time you desire. Those spam emails contain viruses and mal ware that can harm your computer and get important information such as accounts information and then a third party will be able to hack into them. This feature allows those spams email to be deleted permanently. Another feature this has is you are able  to block any email address that you do not want to receive any emails from.

 The third online service that I have is Instagram. Under the settings for here you are able to edit your password. This allows you to have more security over your account for the reason being that you can change it whenever you feel like it. This makes it harder for hackers to hack into your account if you change it. You can link Instagram to other accounts in case you forget your password. Also under settings, you are able to save original photos you take just in case you delete them by mistake on your phone, tablet, laptop, etc.

 The fourth online service is my UHD Gator Mail. This is set up by the University and it generates a new password every 90 days I believe. After the time passes you are required to make a new one in order to access your gator mail, blackboard and other services that is linked with your gator account. Not only is this secured, but it prevents from anyone getting into your account. As well along with this feature, you have security question that you answer personally that only you know the answer.

  For me, these online services that I have are secured for me since I do not really have much to share out in public. I usually stay within my group of friends and peers that I know well enough. For me they all have the good privacy settings, but the best one for me is my AT&T yahoo email. This is personal for me since this email is the one that I have all my important information  that I have on here. The worst I believe might be Instagram since I have a friend that his account was recently hacked into.

Progress Report (Social Media in the Workplace) #1

-In order to have a complete idea on how our project will end up, we will all be dividing the work equally. Each member will be responsible for their own research and making sure it is thorough. Our topic is “Social Media and the Workplace”. Luis will be responsible for research and collecting data from the workplaces and how much they use and depend on social media. I will be doing the introduction about  how social media is a big influences towards businesses work place around the globe. Lastly, David will be in charge of finding the pros and cons of businesses that use social media in their workplace. All group members will all have to have their specific research. If any one from our group member is having trouble on search for their data, then we will contribute our help if it ever come to that. The group member responsible for that each role will be held responsible and will need to elaborate and type their findings for proof. We will communicate with one another in order to progress on this topic and find as much information needed to present. Our way of dividing the work helps us see the importance of our roles and will benefit in seeing our perspectives on the data we collect as well as see what needs to be added, taken away,in order for our presentation on “Social Media and the Workplace”.

-My research will be based upon finding the reason why social media plays a big role and how it is an influence to the globalization of businesses. As well on what is the meaning for future businesses that will need to use social media in order to stay in contact with clients, and pass important information from one another. I will also research on how the influence came to be passing time since social media did not really exist in the past. How now we rely on social media to stay in contact with one another. Social Media in the Workplace is new to this era and I will talk about how it is now and how I believe the influence will affect the outcome of businesses in the future.

Chinese Gold Farmer

  Based upon the article and the video on Chinese Gold Farming, this method is based upon cheap labor in China in the virtual gaming world. The polite term for this is called gaming workshops. The laborers work for a wage of around $1.25 which equals to about 10 yuans. The person in the article named Li Qiwen, is a worker that does this for a living. Night after night him and a group of around 10 people gather up virtual coins, weapons, all that is required in the games. After they reach their goal to sell, then they all give it to their supervisor who sells the virtual currency to buyers in The United Sates and Europe. In the video, we also see that they live in small dorms and share their winnings.

  There are thousands of businesses in China that do this that it is not owned nor operated by gaming companies, who legitimately make the money. The way that these virtual currency are bought are from Ebay, PayPal, and other source of transferring money. Depending on the work shops, the average amount they make a year is $80,000 in U.S dollars. For these farmers, every minute counts because if they spent less time on it, then it is like money being taken away from their pockets.

Topic: Social Media and the workplace

- Social Media is useful in the workplace. Social Media has benefited businesses in staying more connected with the buyer and companies. Now the entire business world has seen a great outcome in Social Media because it also benefits in staying connected with their employees. In present time, we see more video conferences from international businesses using social media to stay connected.
We will  be discussing about how the positive and negative side of social media affects the workplace, and how companies within each other stay in the loop.

MBTI Results

 My results were, Extravert (1%), iNtuitive (25%), Feeling (38%), and Judging (44%).
 
   I agree with the results  that I have tremendous amount of charisma and manipulation towards
mostly my friends when it comes down to helping them in some sort of way. I dream big all the time because I want to succeed in life. I agree with that I have a lot of responsibilities that I have to do every single day, but I do manage to complete all of my responsibilities.

  The MBTI says that I appreciate people which is true since I do my best to help others that are in need. I prefer to give my time and help others, mostly close friends that I know need help in occasions as well as others such as homeless. I have a habit to neglect my well being for the best of others for the reason that I do not want others to be in a slump. I prefer giving them a helping hand and see them rise from where they are.

  The only thing that I do not really agree with is the career choices that it gives me. I do not see my self working as an counselor, social work, politics, or even management. The career choice that I will apply these results will be in the Criminal Justice side. I see myself as a Houston Police Officer and working my way up to homicide detective. Theses results of career choices that was given to me by the MBTI does not really fall into my category of career choices since I am more interested in Criminal Justice.

  The other result that I agree on is that I prefer a face to face relationship with anyone that includes social and working life. It is the best way to communicate with everyone because you have their undivided attention. This talks greatly about me since my tendencies are to have communication with people face to face since it helps them and me get a better understanding of the topic or situation and find a solution to the situation or a reasoning to the topic.

-This database is about how technology has influenced steel minimills that produce high quality steel products from scrap iron. As well it focuses on the mechanisms that makes transferring steel minimills technology easier.

- This database is used for searching up journals and magazines that have to do with computers, artificial intelligence, and robotics.

-One journal that I searched up was "Satellite cells activation on fibers: modeling events in vivo - an interviewed review. By: Anderson, Judy E. and Wozniak, Ashley C.
-This journal is used for gaining knowledge about how satellite cell activation is good for planning therapies. This is helpful by allowing growth and regeneration of skeletal muscle in healthy, disease, and aging.
